The Demon's birth and beginnings are unknown, but what is known is that he was a citizen of the Inferno. Upon entering Inferno, The Demon was not known by that name, but by another name. The Being was said to be of holy existence, with a care and compassion for all life, man or machine. Because of his holy nature, Inferno assigned The Being to Warden of the Inferno's prison chambers. There, a spiritual and physical connection would be made with all criminals within Inferno's Prison Sector, in an attempt to not only bring them back to the light, but also get inside their heads to find the truth about their crimes.
The Being's powers proved to be somewhat of a success. Numerous prisoners were cured of their hateful, violent ways and were released back into society. But as time passed, the connections between The Being and the inmates soon began to turn the holy entity into a monster himself. The Being's heart blackened. Due to the connections with the men, The Being had become corrupted with Hate and Violence much as his inmates were.
Soon, The Being snapped. While Inferno was in the process of opening one of it's many gateways to another universe, The Being, through his spiritual connection with the prisoners, slaughtered half of them. Before being detected, The Being fled into Inferno's gateway to some unknown region of the universe.
Upon Inferno's depiction of what happened, they dubbed the former warden with a new name, The Demon. Inferno launched an extensive search for The Demon but failed.
Where The Demon fled to is unknown. Due to his original Holyness, The Demon remained immortal. But the last known whereabouts of the new monster, The Great Battle for Snake Mountain, proved that The Demon could be killed. Said to have fought the feared Dreadnaught, in which the terrifying creature took off one of The Demon's arms. Nearly bleeding to death, he had it replaced with a fully mechanical arm. Though The Demon could live forever, this proved he could be killed as well.
The Demon has remained hidden since then. Lying dormaint until the time comes for him to rise up against Inferno and exact his revenge, and to gain his own salvation....

Sounds pretty awesome so far! Though I do have a couple small questions.
You mentioned "The Great Battle for Snake Mountain" and I don't think I know what that is. Care to elaborate?
Also, in what way will he obtain salvation aboard Inferno? Will he have to battle some rival or achieve something of a deeper nature?

Well, the idea behind the battle-thing is that because you wanted Dread to have some form of conflict with Inferno, and I want to tie in a relationship between both Dread and Inferno to Demon, its just a seemingly good fit. but its up to you really...
As for the Salvation thing, basically The Demon can redeem his once spiritual soul and rid himself of his corrupt nature by destroying Inferno. Exacting revenge if you must...

Well if he's going to battle with Dread, I don't know if it would be at the "Great Battle". Since you both have the same basic goal and fabricating a conflict between you two during said battle would probably just breed confusion and overcomplication.
I'm thinking the Demon should come back at a later date, after that battle. Maybe he returns lost and disoriented. He sees Snake Mountain and thinks it'd make a nice home, but run's into Dread, it's current occupant. There's a "disagreement" and then the aftermath of that leaves the Demon a bit humbled and a little less volatile.
Well you know, as humbled as a black-hearted spiritual being can be.
But hey, if you can think of something better, lay it on meh.

Actually I like that one a lot. I understand how it could cause confusion. But now that I remember, I had that idea where there may have been a third force in the 'war'-deal between Dread and Inferno, in which The Demon led. As I recall, I mentioned that The Demon's army was obliterated and in a state of confusion, The Demon wandered too close to Dread and got mutilated.
But I dont know. Youre idea sounds a bit better. What would this "disagreement" be exactly?

Yeah I remember the third force idea, but I couldn't think of where they would come from and why they'd want to fight Dread's race when you two have similar goals. I don't want to attach too much to this "Great Battle" because there's a chance it may not even exist yet. I still need to discuss some things with Lucky.
Anyways, the disagreement could be anything. Even something as simple as "GTFO, ths is my pad now!" lol. Play around with it.

Well, the third force idea was moreso perhaps a human race against Inferno, but then Dreads forces show up and annihilate the humans or something. like, Demon's forces arent known by Dread or Inferno so when they arrive, they're just flatout murdered. something like that.
Perhaps just a disagreement about staying there. Perhaps one of those CULTs on SM attacked Demon, but he got by and managed to meet Dread and perhaps there could be some sympathy. Maybe Dread is the one who saves The Demon? But does NOT let him stay...

Well see the only problem with that is this "Great Battle" is the planet united against Inferno. Plus, back in those ancient times, the serpent race was in harmony with the other races. It was generally a time of peace and prosperity, unlike how the MaSu world is presently. Dread is only as "on edge" as he is now because he's the only one left and he's a bit paranoid not to mention slightly bitter about his predicament. And he can't risk anything posing a threat to his work.
I do really like your disagreement idea though. Dread acting as a sort of aloof mentor to Demon, lol.

Yeah. that does make perfect sense. I have an idea to combat it, but I honestly like the new idea much more anyway.
Yeah, thats what im going for. lol. However, the demon cannot stay at Snake Mountain with Dread. But Dread does aid him and ally with him to some extent. Like, when they first meet, there could be some hostility until Dread learns about what created The Demon, err, corrupted i mean. Then he decides to spare his life, heal him back, train him a bit, but then kicks him out until the time is right...lol

Alright, so the initial Overworld things changed a little in a way that would affect this character. Or at least provide a more definite backstory for it.
Basically, Overworld is controlled by three powerful elders. One of those elders goes rogue and tries to claim Overworld for his own selfish goals. A short time later, the rogue elder is imprisoned by the other two. He's held in the prison sector where the Being/Demon is warden. We were thinking that this rogue elder could be the one that corrupts you. Then when the two remaining elders decide to shut down Overworld indefinitely and put themselves into cryosleep, the Demon could find a way to escape shortly after.
Then return sometime in the timeframe of "present day" in the story.
