Overworld is the original complete form of the Hubnesters and Inferno. Being two separate entities in their complete and dismantled forms, they're going to have separate threads.
Not everything concerning Overworld has been decided, so I'll just explain what we have so far.
Overworld is a massive machine world designed to be a completely self-sufficient haven for its creators as well as a powerful terraforming tool that can turn barren worlds into lush, life supporting paradises. It is the pinnacle of technological achievement. In their hands, Overworld is the light in a dark existence. Bringing life and prosperity to even the farthest reaches of the universe.
But in the wrong hands...
And for some behind the scenes info, Overworld was constructed long ago on the same planet (we could use a name for it, lol) where our characters reside. Dreadnaught's noble serpent race was also there to witness its creation, but they were not as pleased with the prospect as the creator race. Overworld is powered by an orb of unknown origin that was detected and recovered from a far off desert planet. It is the approximate size of a bowling ball, sports a dark purple hue and radiates energy on an unimaginable scale. It is the sole reason Overworld is able to exist and it is guarded fiercely by the creator race.
But the serpents can detect an aura of strange and ancient power emanating from the orb. Being near it makes them uneasy and it is their belief that the creator race is making a mistake in using it. They attempt to persuade them to seek a different path, but the serpents are turned away.
Seeing no other option, the serpents launch an all out assault on the unfinished Overworld. Each side suffers huge losses, the serpent race in particular, and Overworld is forced to retreat from the planet. The assault fails, some of the creator race is left stranded on the planet and the serpents are dealt a near fatal blow from which they're unlikely to recover from.
Overworld will not be seen again above the planet for centuries, possibly even millennia, later.
(More coming soon!)
